One Creator Code, Paid on Every Order: How Attribution Works on ExDFS
Do you get paid if someone clicks your link today and buys next week? What if they type the code but never clicked? The exact rules for how ExDFS decides which creator earns on an order.
Affiliate programs fail creators in the small print: 24-hour cookies, last-click rules that hand your sale to a coupon site, “pending” balances that never clear. The ExDFS rule is one sentence: the Creator code on the final order earns. Everything else follows from it.
Your code
On approval you receive a permanent Creator code (for example EMILY20). It gives the buyer 20% off any paid product on the marketplace and credits you 30% of the original price (35% after 50 completed orders, 40% after 200). One code, every seller, every paid product.
Two ways a buyer uses it
- They type it at checkout. No click needed. They saw it on screen, in your caption or pinned comment, and typed it. Attribution is yours.
- They click your referral link. The link remembers your code for 30 days in that browser and applies it automatically at checkout. If they come back a week later on the same browser and buy, it is still yours.
What does not count
- Orders without the code. If a buyer forgets and checks out at full price, the order cannot be attributed afterwards. There is no retroactive attribution — so make the code impossible to miss.
- Free products. There is no price to share; downloads of free items earn nothing.
- Your own purchases. Self-referral is prohibited and reverses earnings.
When two creators are involved
The code on the final order wins. If a buyer saw two creators and typed yours, it is yours. There is no split and no “first click” claim.
Refunds
If a buyer refunds because the product was not delivered, was corrupted or materially different from its description — a product or site fault — your earnings are not reduced. Earnings are reversed only for creator misconduct (fake orders, self-referral).
Making attribution work for you
- Say it twice in every video: mid-point and end.
- Show it on screen for at least three seconds.
- First line of the caption and a pinned comment.
- Link in bio so mobile viewers get the 30-day memory.
Payout
