What every freelance invoice must contain
- A unique invoice number — sequential, never reused. Accountants and tax authorities key off it.
- Issue date and payment due date. “Net 14” is fine; a specific date gets paid faster.
- Your legal name, address and tax ID if you have one, plus the client's legal entity name — not the brand name.
- Line-item detail. One line per deliverable, with quantity and rate. Vague single-line invoices are the most common cause of payment delays.
- Payment instructions and a stated late-payment consequence.

- Invoice the same day you deliver — not at month end.
- Send it to the accounts payable email address, cc your contact.
- Ask for 30–50% upfront on anything above a week of work.

Is this invoice legally valid?
An invoice is a commercial document, not a contract, so it is valid once it identifies both parties, the work, the amount and the date. Local tax rules may require a tax number or specific wording — check your own jurisdiction.
Where is my data stored?
Nowhere by default. “Save draft” stores the invoice in your own browser's local storage only. Nothing is uploaded.
How do I get a real PDF instead of a print?
Click “Download PDF / Print” and choose “Save as PDF” as the destination in your browser's print dialog.
